DJs vs. Rentals

We do not offer equipment rentals though there are retail outlets that can provide. If choosing to go this route be sure to review your rental agreement and confirm how soon the gear must be returned before incurring an additional day rate.

There’s an occupational hazard of being a wedding DJ invited to a friend’s wedding that didn’t hire one. David has a story from when he was a guest at a wedding without a DJ. Much to the chagrin of his +1 he wound up distracted choosing songs off his phone for most of the dancefloor.

The basic gear needed to link mics and speakers is fairly straightforward though some general prior experience is recommended.  There can be nuances that are relatively quick to learn though any technical difficulties faced day of can takeaway from a planned timeline. If the client has a guest with a past in live sound then they're likely equipped with the know-how to arrange a functional set up if rented.

Some venues offer use of in-house sound systems as well though typically charge more than rentals.  That said, it may be worth the extra cost to book venue provided sound and spare a round trip for pick up & drop off of rented gear.

Still, booking a DJ allows all of your guests to focus on enjoying the company of friends and family.

We’ve been booked to film weddings with elaborate floral arrangements, experienced photographers, and more just to capture scenes of a living room karaoke machine used to amplify toasts and music for 100+ guests.

Side note - professional sound may be important when booking videography.

An experienced DJ / MC keeps their eye on the timeline, coordinates with other vendors, and more to keep things flowing.

While we understand this may be the only time in our client’s lives when they hire a DJ, we can compare the nuances of the 500+ events we’ve covered and attest to the value of professional vendors.

What do DJs actually do?

Pending the services booked with Aisle Finesse, we bring between $10k - $50k of equipment. We pride ourselves with state of the art set ups, constantly reinvesting to improve our services and streamline our process.

Tools aside, the human element is invaluable.

Our team is made up of creative vendors passionate about their crafts - it’s an honor to earn a living doing what we love!

We haven’t placed a limit on client communication and are here for any questions that may come up in your planning process. Average weddings range from 30 to 100 emails per with 2-3 Google Meets, sometimes more.

Though we focus on covering the details, we hope to have earned some inside jokes along the way :)

Aside from the actual event day, each wedding averages a cumulative work week or two of communication, combing through details, organizing music / planning sets, researching venues / reviewing floorplans, packing & unloading.

We genuinely care about every event and do our part to ensure things go smoothly.

We could itemize our entire inventory, the hours spent preparing and following through, etc. though above all, we are here to provide an experience.

Good times with family & friends are priceless.
